FOX5 Las Vegas picked Grant a Gift Autism Foundation as its Spin Zone charity of the month for September. The nonprofit runs the Ackerman Center and works to create real outcomes for neurodivergent kids and their families across Southern Nevada.
They offer diagnostics, developmental behavioral pediatrics, pediatric neurology, child neuropsychology, and ABA therapy. The team there said the support they give families while they’re still waiting for answers is a big reason they got chosen.
A Longstanding Local Resource
Grant a Gift started in 2009 when Lynda Tache founded it after her son Grant was diagnosed with autism at six. It began as one parent trying to fill the gaps she saw in local care. Today it’s one of the main places families in Las Vegas turn to for clinical services and ongoing support. They reach thousands of families every year and deliver tens of thousands of hours of therapy.
The Ackerman Center is still the hub for evaluations, treatment, and guidance. Many parents go there first after a diagnosis or when they need consistent care that’s hard to find elsewhere in Southern Nevada.
Why Community Visibility Matters
Features like this on local TV help spread the word. They often reach families who’ve been looking for solid information and don’t know where to start. They also remind the rest of the community that autism support isn’t a temporary cause; rather, it’s an ongoing need.
