A fun and nostalgic fundraiser is bringing the spirit of the classic movie Grease to Las Vegas this weekend. The annual poker tournament, now in its 12th year, is themed around Rydell High, encouraging participants to dress as Pink Ladies or T-Birds while supporting a vital local cause.

Fun Theme Brings Community Together

The Grease theme was suggested by a longtime participant after last year’s event, and organizers happily embraced the idea. Guests are invited to come in character for an evening of Texas Hold’em poker, costumes, and camaraderie at Jackpot Bar & Grill.

“It’s going to be so fun,” organizers shared, noting that the lighthearted atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome — even those new to poker.

What is FEAT?

FEAT of Southern Nevada (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) is a local nonprofit founded in 1996. Now approaching 30 years of service, the organization provides essential support to families impacted by autism at no cost to them.

Programs include parent respite care, advocacy support within the school district, guidance on individualized education plans, monthly support meetings, social programs, and scholarships.

From Humble Beginnings

It all started with a few dads at a FEAT support meeting. One night, they sat around a bar, tossing out ideas and scribbling plans on a napkin between rounds of beer. That tiny spark turned into something big. Now, the tournament is a favorite annual event, raising real money for families affected by autism in Southern Nevada.

Players jump in with a $100 buy-in, plus $20 rebuys, and play a fast-paced Texas Hold’em game that keeps the energy high.

A unique “golden ticket” raffle gives one lucky winner a direct seat at the final table. An online auction with dozens of great items is also open for bidding.
