Art and Design are among the most vibrant and thriving industries in Las Vegas, with the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) at its heart. The good thing with art and design is that there’s always something new, some room for growth, exploration, and even diversity of thought.
As you probably already know, most Autistic children are talented in art, and this is why LVDC holds the Art 4 Autism exhibition annually. For those who are not aware, LVDC is a non-profit organization committed to promoting education, connecting people and communities, and showcasing the unique window of the art and design world.
This September will be vibrant courtesy of a series of three events LVDC organizes. The first event, aptly named “Sustainable Performance Fabrics: From Fiber to Design”, will be held on the first Friday of September from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In this event, you can expect to delve deep into performance fabrics. We will explore using natural and synthetic fibers, coloration techniques, and finishing methods.
Also, there will be a focus on common testing procedures used in this industry. The event is not limited to just technical knowledge but also highlights the application of these fabrics in luxury and lifestyle design, making it an essential gathering for professionals who prioritize sustainability and innovation in their work.
Art 4 Autism Reception
The next event will take place on September 7th, where the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) will host a Champagne Artist Reception. In this gathering, the LVDC will celebrate the completion of its third annual Art 4 Autism exhibition, a month-long fundraiser in collaboration with Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT). The exhibition features unique artwork created by individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is currently displayed at the Atrium of Building A in World Market Center Las Vegas.
All original pieces are open for auction, with half of the proceeds going towards FEAT and the other half directly supporting the artists. This event serves as a culmination of efforts to raise awareness and support for autism, showcasing the creativity and talents within this community while also contributing to a worthy cause.
IDS Design Competition
The third event is the IDS Design Competition, where participants are challenged to create a vision board under time constraints and incorporate surprise elements provided by sponsors. The competition features individual, duo, and student categories, with a panel of celebrity judges determining the Best in Show winner. Dubbed “Swatched Las Vegas!”, this event promises an evening of creativity, excitement, and friendly competition in interior design. Mark your calendars for these September dates as the LVDC and the Interior Design Society team up to bring this unique experience to Las Vegas.
