Ante4Autism founder Doug Krinsky and former executive director of the Rich Center, Georgia Backus, recently awarded a generous sum of $27,593 to representatives from the YSU Foundation and the Rich Center. This donation will be used to support various cultural and educational activities for parents and families of currently enrolled or formerly enrolled Rich Center students.

The funds will also go towards the establishment of a parent resource room at the center. The 2018 Ante 4Autism event, in particular, was a huge success and provided funds for the establishment of the Doug Krinsky and Georgia Backus Operating Endowment. This endowment will specifically support the Rich Center for Autism, a cause close to founder Columbus native Doug Krinsky’s heart. Rich Center for Autism’s founding director from 1995 to 2013, Georgia Backus, was a YSU graduate who earned her bachelor’s and master of science in Education. She also played a vital role in obtaining recognition for the Rich Center as an Ohio Department of Education Center of Excellence.
Backus’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the Rich Center for Autism, as evidenced by the Doug Krinsky and Georgia Backus Operating Endowment establishment. This endowment serves as a testament to her dedication and hard work towards advancing autism research and support services.
Rich Center for Autism Background
For those unfamiliar with the background, the Rich Center for Autism was founded in 1995 by a group of families, including the Kosar, Rich (Ricchiuti), and Rubino families. These families all shared a common goal of understanding autism and providing necessary care for individuals affected by it.
The center falls under the YSU Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, & Education and is dedicated to preparing professionals in Education, medicine, and other fields with the best practices for caring for those on the autism spectrum. The centre also works to expand knowledge through research and serves as an advocate for Autistic children. Rich Center for Autism accepts children from all backgrounds regardless of their ability to pay, providing referral, treatment, and support at no cost to families.
